In 2021, along with a handful of other artists, Ledo was invited to paint at small local project in Montreal, Plaza des Murales. The project was aimed to freshen up the street that served as a back alley to the infamous Plaza St Hubert. Ledo used this as an opportunity to paint his 2 year old son, which he had been waiting for the right project to do. It’s a fun and playful piece sharing the message of love.

In 2021, Up Here Festival invited Ledo to paint at a scaled down version of their annual art and music festival. It was was the first summer since local hero, Alex Trebek, the long running host of Jeopardy! had passed and so it was decided that a tribute to this icon was in order, especially since the given wall for the mural was on the very school Alex attended as a youth.
Resonate, 45’x 22,’ with exterior paint. One Blue Sky Project in association with APTart and Beyond Walls. Lynn, MA, USA. photo by Kevin Ledo
“As people pass through downtown Lynn, Massachusetts a new mural painted by Kevin Ledo and group of local youth resonates with a universal human love of music, sports and culture. A boy from Lynn’s YMCA wearing a hometown sports jersey is illuminated by a colourful background from a textile pattern. The pattern echoes a cultural connection and new friendship the children in Lynn have forged with a group of children across the planet in Mutua, Mozambique. Human communication travels at unprecedented speed in today’s world. Ideas and culture can be shared, sent and returned. With this idea in mind, kids in Lynn, Massachusetts, USA have been connecting with kids in Matua, Sofala, Mozambique through video correspondence. While their realities are worlds apart, more than 12,000 kilometers, their appreciation of music, sports and cultures resonates across oceans.” One Blue Sky Project

Invited by Chilliwack Mural Festival to paint a mural for their very first edition in the summer of 2020, Ledo and Amber, who heads the festival, asked Inez Louis, a local and nationally known indigenous artist, nurse and positive voice in the community, for permission to be represented in a mural. With Inez’s blessing, Ledo used an image of Inez by Justin Louis, Inez’s husband, for reference and Memiyelhtel, a local indigenous community youth group was invited to do a workshop with Ledo and then paint positive messages in in Halq’eméylem, Cree, English and Anishinaabemowin.

This mural was painted at Eneida Hartner Elementary school in Wynwood, Miami for The Raw Project, a non profit organization that brings art and ideas to under serviced schools in the USA. Ledo’s thought was to give the children a local art hero to look up to, figuratively and literally speaking. Nate Dee, an artist friend of Ledo, is a local all around positive and inspirational artist.
