Kevin Ledo's paintings embrace an aesthetically seductive quality while flirting with prevalent commercial imagery and concepts pertinent to today's consumer society. What emerges are ideas revolving around idealism, beauty and divinity. Working with these notions, Ledo strives to better understand the role they can play on our consciousness and the methods of use in mass media.

Ledo's process may often begin intuitively, building on the seeds of a concept, however, his practice is methodically carried out from preliminary digital imaging to painted canvas. He is driven by his attraction and resistance to visual persuasion in media and religion; results of having been raised Catholic and educated as a graphic artist. The work is the culmination and understanding of the duality Ledo confronts with persuasive imagery and his fascination with iconography.

Ledo's paintings have been on display in Taiwan, and in Canada, including Montreal, Tofino and Vancouver. Ledo is a first generation Portuguese Canadian, born and raised in Montreal, where he completed Illustration and Design at Dawson College. Over the past few years Ledo has been traveling and living in different parts of Canada and Asia. Ledo is presently based out of Montreal.
